The Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society (COBSS) is a non-profit society of volunteers from the Central Okanagan area who are dedicated to providing financial assistance to our Grade 12 graduates in order that they may further their post-secondary education.
We accept and administer money from donors such as community or school groups, businesses, and individuals. Each year COBSS acts as a central body through which graduating Grade 12 students can apply for approximately 500 awards. Criteria for these awards are set by the donor to recognize student achievement (such as citizenship, scholastic or athletic achievement) and to assist those who might have difficulty in financing further education.
These awards are intended for students entering a college, university or other post-secondary institution in September of their graduation year. Over the years, COBSS has distributed several million dollars to deserving graduating students from the Central Okanagan.
COBSS continues to gather support by community donors to assist students with their education and vocational ambitions.
