Thank you for your continued support of students pursuing post-secondary education through your involvement with the Central Okanagan Bursary and Scholarship Society (COBSS). COBSS is a 48-year-old non-profit organization made up of community volunteers and school counsellors, serving students both in public and private schools, from Mount Boucherie Secondary in West Kelowna to George Elliot Secondary in Lake Country.
The mandate of COBSS is to facilitate individuals, businesses, service clubs, or anyone who wants to provide financial support to high school graduates embarking on post-secondary education. Bursaries are allocated primarily on financial need, scholarships are distributed to those with outstanding achievement and awards are given based on a variety of criteria specified by the donor. COBSS proudly partners with the Central Okanagan Foundation (COF) to find just the right students for their awards.
In April of 2018 the volunteer team at COBSS pledged to work smarter and harder for Okanagan students, and set a goal (for 2020) to allocate $500,000 in awards. We are thrilled to share that we have exceeded that goal in just one year!
This year (2019) COBSS proudly allocated 47 new awards bringing our total awards to 583. Our business community really stepped up for the students and we are delighted to be in partnership with all of our generous donors.
If you know others who are interested in becoming donors or just would like more information, COBSS can be reached at the website: www.cobss.sd23.ca, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone: 250-861- 4980.
Thank you again for your continued support of COBSS.
